Throughout history, pirates have been a prominent presence, but their prevalence surged even further following the era known as the Age of Pirates.
Among the vast number of pirate crews traversing the treacherous Grand Line, a significant portion met their demise in an unforeseen manner. Below, we present the six formidable pirate crews that, regrettably, suffered a similar fate.
Top 6/ Heart Pirates
The Heart Pirates, led by Captain Trafalgar D. Water Law, hail from the North Sea. Similar to Luffy and Blackbeard, Law is a member of the notorious Worst Generation.
The known bounties for this pirate crew amount to a total of 3 billion 500 beli. Law holds a bounty of 3 billion beli, while Bepo’s bounty is 500 beli. Unfortunately, information regarding the bounties of other members such as former captain Jean Bart, Shachi, and Penguin remains elusive. Essentially, Law constitutes about 90% of the Heart Pirates’ strength, making them a formidable force in the New World, despite having a smaller crew compared to other pirates.
However, recent events have led us to believe that the fate of the Heart Pirates may have taken a tragic turn. During their encounter with the Blackbeard Pirates, the enemy managed to divide and sink the Polatang submarine, which served as the Heart Pirates’ vessel, deep into the depths of the Great Sea. Furthermore, Law’s complete defeat, with his 3 billion beli bounty rendered null, was only averted by Bepo’s timely rescue, preventing him from becoming prey to the Sea Kings. It is conceivable that the Heart Pirates from the North Sea have been completely eradicated from the map of the New World.
For a pirate crew, the ship and the flag hold immense significance as symbols of their soul. Losing them signifies the dissolution of the crew itself.
Top 5/ Kid Pirates
Kid, at the young age of 23, possesses exceptional strength, bolstered by his proficiency in all three types of Haki and a formidable Paramecia-type Devil Fruit known as the Jiki Jiki no Mi, or Magnetic Fruit. His abilities make him a force to be reckoned with. Kid was known for his bold declarations, confidently proclaiming that he had no interest in bowing down to anyone, including powerful figures like the Yonko Big Mom, whom he referred to as his prey. In Wano Country, he even displayed his might by forcefully pressing the head of the queen to the ground.
The Kid Pirates, who rival the Straw Hat Pirates led by Luffy in their pursuit of the title of Pirate King, are regarded as a formidable crew. However, their fate took a drastic turn following their encounter with the Red-haired Yonko, Shanks, in Elbaf. This encounter marked the official end for Kid and his crew.
Similar to Law’s Heart Pirates, the Kid Pirates were entirely eradicated from the map of the New World. While Law found himself unable to avoid a confrontation with Blackbeard, Kid could have chosen to avoid a clash with Red-Haired Shanks by relinquishing his claim to the complete set of Road Poneglyphs. However, Kid made a different choice.
Top 4/ Donquixote Pirates
By the time the Law-Luffy alliance defeated and decimated the pirate crew led by Doflamingo in Dressrosa, their combined bounties amounted to a total of 813,000,000 beli. However, in my assessment, I consider this pirate crew to be significantly stronger than both the Heart Pirates and the Kid Pirates.
One of the key factors that set Doflamingo’s crew apart is their well-defined operating system. They have a clear hierarchy, with the Elites occupying the highest positions and the remaining members organized beneath them. This hierarchical structure mirrors that of the Yonko clans, showcasing Doflamingo’s meticulous approach to governance. Notably, Doflamingo even managed to infiltrate the ranks of the Marines, with one of his associates, Vergo, attaining the rank of Vice Admiral.
Nevertheless, all of these accomplishments have now become part of history. After being on the receiving end of Luffy’s powerful King Kong Gun Punch, Doflamingo and his cohorts were stripped of everything they had accumulated over the course of the past decade.
Top 3/ The Beasts Pirates
As of the latest bounties revealed by Oda, the Beasts Pirates hold the distinction of having the highest total bounty announced in One Piece, amounting to 11,179,100,000 beli.
However, these figures now belong to the past, as the alliance between Big Mom and Kaido suffered a resounding defeat in Wano Country.
Unlike the Big Mom Pirates, who managed to retain their forces intact despite Big Mom’s crushing defeat in Wano, thanks to their headquarters in Tottoland rather than Wano Country, the Beasts Pirates were not as fortunate. In their case, a loss meant losing everything, leaving nothing behind.
Top 2/ Whitebeard Pirates
Indeed, among the Yonko, Big Mom holds a deep respect for Whitebeard, surpassing her regard for Kaido or Red-Haired Shanks.
This is because Whitebeard, known as the strongest man in the world, possessed a level of power on par with the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and Vice Admiral Garp. He wielded the fearsome Gura Gura no Mi, a Devil Fruit capable of causing massive upheaval and even reshaping the world.
Under Whitebeard’s leadership, there were 16 commanders, formidable individuals like Marco the Phoenix, Fire Fist Ace, Jozu the Diamond, Vista the Flower, and 1600 other members. Furthermore, Whitebeard commanded a large and powerful fleet consisting of 43 allied pirate groups. Thus, despite their known bounty at that time amounting to 7,480,000,000 beli, which might not have been as high as the Beast Pirates led by Kaido, Big Mom held a distinct appreciation for the Whitebeard Pirates. They were unequivocally the most dominant force in the Pirate World, a force that commanded respect and deterred any potential adversaries. They were prepared to mobilize their troops to Marine Headquarters, with the primary mission of saving lives.
However, the journey to Marineford two years ago marked the last expedition of Whitebeard as the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates. Though Ace was rescued during that battle, both Ace and Whitebeard ultimately met their demise, and the alliance of the Whitebeard Pirates suffered a devastating defeat.
Furthermore, one year later, the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates, led by Marco the Phoenix, were defeated by the overwhelmingly powerful Blackbeard. Consequently, the comrades who had fought alongside Marco were scattered, and the territory once held by the Whitebeard Pirates was seized by Blackbeard, who ascended to the position of one of the Four Emperors. The once mighty Whitebeard Pirates now exist only in memories.
Top 1/ Legendary Rocks Pirates
“Before Roger came along, without a doubt, it was their era, but that was 40 years ago,” commented Garp regarding the legendary Rocks Pirates.
The Rocks Pirates boasted members such as Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido. Their captain, Rock D. Xebec, harbored ambitions of becoming the King of the world. Notably, Rock D. Xebec stood as Roger’s most astonishing and formidable adversary.
However, in God Valley, 38 years ago, the pirate-navy alliance consisting of Roger and Garp completely eradicated the Rocks Pirates.
It is no trivial matter that a disbanded pirate crew gave rise to three out of the four Yonko, the true rulers of the sea. The Rocks Pirates are indeed the legendary pirates they are hailed as.
You might wonder why the Roger Pirates are not on this list. There is, in fact, a reason for that. Unlike the six pirate crews I previously mentioned, all of whom were vanquished and wiped out by their enemies, the Roger Pirates stood in stark contrast.
Gol D. Roger, accompanied by Rayleigh and their companions, never fell into the clutches of the Marines, nor were they ever defeated by anyone. They were never wiped out. Instead, after reaching the final island of the Grand Line, Laugh Tale, Captain Roger himself issued the order to disband the crew. A year later, Roger turned himself in to the Marines, allowing his legend to endure.
Hence, the Roger Pirates are unique, set apart from other pirates. Their distinction renders them incomparable.
